		<description>A weight belt will help a little, but the best remedy is making sure you don&#039;t overextend in the first place.  Lift with lighter weights and make sure that you keep the correct form.  

It also sounds like your lower back might be weaker than the muscles in your upper body.  Doing exercises (especially dead lifts) that help work your lower back and strengthen those muscles might also help with your problem.  It will also help to even your body out a little more and really get those upper body muscles growing!</description>

I just got back in to lifting at 53. I had a hard time getting my bench press weight up until I started doing standing overhead presses as well. I tend to hyper extend, and that leads to a sore lower back. 
Will using a weight belt help with this?</description>
